Summary of Research

The Earth is constantly being measured, but rarely completely. Satellites, sensors, simulations, and field observations each provide partial views of complex environmental and ecological systems. My research focuses on building machine learning models that can learn from these data challenges: sparse measurements, missing modalities, noisy observations, and changing spatiotemporal patterns. I am especially interested in AI for Earth and environmental systems, with applications in ecological monitoring, remote sensing, climate and weather modeling, wildfire risk, and environmental change. Broadly, I want to develop AI systems that help us better observe, understand, and respond to a changing planet.
