Devin Matthews

Dr. Devin Matthews is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin, in the Science of High Performance Computing Group led by Robert van de Geijn. He earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry at UT and continued his undergraduate research in theoretical and computational chemistry there as a graduate student under John Stanton, earning a Ph.D. in 2014. During his Argonne National Laboratory practicum under DOE CSGF alumnus Jeff Hammond, Dr. Matthews collaborated with fellowship colleague Edgar Solomonik on new approaches in massively parallel tensor computations. Dr. Matthews’ research interests include high-accuracy electronic structure methods, computational spectroscopy, high-performance computing and tensor algorithms.
