This is a snapshot of ongoing research in efficient computational methods to reconstruct a radiation source from limited detector measurements. The radiation source considered is neutral particles (neutrons and gammas), and the source may be distributed in both position and energy. We use the adjoint capabilities of a radiation transport solver to compute the importance with respect to the detectors. These importances are input for an optimization process to select a probable source distribution.
