We present an overview of an initial exploration of quantum computation applied to speech processing. This study focuses on the development of a quantum algorithmic pipeline designed for speech processing tasks, with the aim to better understand the potential and limitations of quantum systems in this context. A key goal of this research is to generate speech encodings using quantum techniques. This work contains preliminary results, and the practical implications of these quantum encodings for speech recognition systems remain to be fully understood, nonetheless, we show that we can reliably encode speech signals on a quantum computer.
