Linda Macri, Ph.D.

Linda Macri, Ph.D., is the Director of Academic and Professional Development in the University of Maryland’s Graduate School, where she oversees initiatives that support academic and career development for the university’s wide range of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars − including workshops, short courses, symposia, peer support, and the GradTerp Exchange speaker series. She has also directed the Graduate School Writing Center at Maryland since 2014.

From 2005-2013, Macri served as the director of the Academic Writing Program in the university’s English Department and was co-chair of the Consortium on Graduate Communication from 2019-2021.

Macri earned her Ph.D. in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of Maryland, and her bachelor’s degree (in same the field of study) from Columbia University.
