The dynamics of quantum systems has been a topic of continuing interest since the inception of quantum mechanics. It remains an especially challenging area, due to the exponential growth in complexity with respect to the size of a physical system of interest. Many approximate methods have been developed for the approximate propagation of systems to attempt to overcome these difficulties. Here, we reformulate the dynamics problem as a ground-state Hermitian eigenvalue problem and use the techniques in this problem domain to extract the essential elements of physical dynamics in a novel way.
