Global security within Los Alamos National Laboratory encompasses programs that support U.S. government efforts in understanding other countries’ nuclear weapons programs, non-proliferation and counter proliferation efforts, as well as detection of nuclear events throughout the world.
In this presentation we will discuss the programs that are a part of the laboratory’s global security portfolio and the science and engineering capabilities that underpin those programs.  Specific emphasis will be placed on understanding how various academic disciplines are merged into a laboratory capability to solve national security problems for the country.
