We analyze the jamming transition that occurs as a function of increasing packing density in a system of two-dimensional disks at “Point J”: zero temperature and zero applied stress. Measuring the total number of moving disks and the transverse length of the moving region, we find a power law divergence as the packing density increases toward a critical jamming density. Parallelized performance enhancement results are shown, using an 83-node Beowulf cluster running Message Passing Interface.
