Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) is a very high accuracy quantum particle correlation correction method. Its general use on interesting material science and chemical problems has been limited by its large expense. Parallelization techniques have been developed which are allowing QMC to be accomplished on low cost loosely coupled networks. This work points to QMC being an ideal “bottom-feeder” for resource managers in traditional and “grid” type supercomputers.
