Scott Gibbs

Scott Gibbs, Los Alamos National LaboratoryScott Gibbs serves as Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Associate Director for Threat Identification and Response, managing a staff of 935 and an annual budget of more than $375 million. The Directorate focuses on non-proliferation and counter-proliferation R&D associated with weapons of mass effect, space systems applications, warfighter support, and intelligence analysis.

Prior to serving this capacity, Gibbs was responsible for managing the Engineering and Engineering Sciences Directorate which represented a $384 million budget and 1,250 direct staff.

Gibbs began his career at Los Alamos in 1985.  He has held a variety of programmatic and operational executive management positions since 2002; and since 2004, he has served in four different Associate Director roles, spanning over three-quarters of the Laboratory in research, development, engineering and operations.
