Researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) are engaged in a wide variety of science, technology and engineering endeavors that support U.S. national security needs. This enterprise is built on the foundational capabilities developed to support the Stockpile Stewardship Program, charged with maintaining the safety, security and effectiveness of the U.S. Nuclear weapons stockpile. I will present an overview of LLNL's programs and then highlight some of the activities specific to the focus of Stewardship Science in high energy density physics, nuclear physics, and materials at extreme conditions.
