Travel Booking Guidelines
Fellows
Fellows traveling by air should arrive at Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) airport by 4 p.m. on Monday, June 19. The adjacent Sheraton Albuquerque Airport Hotel, your destination for the evening, offers a 24-hour complimentary shuttle to and from the airport; please take advantage of this service.
Ground transportation will be provided for Tuesday and Wednesday's DOE laboratory tours. The fellowship will also provide busing to ABQ for departures on Friday, June 23; please schedule your outbound flight no earlier than noon.
Incoming, first-, second- and third-year fellows are required to use Travel and Transport to reserve their air or train reservations. Visit Travel and Transport to begin your reservation process. Fourth-year fellows will be responsible for booking their own travel reservations, whether directly with the airline or train company, via an online discounter, or by some other means.
Specific travel-related questions should be directed to Krell's travel reimbursement coordinator prior to booking in order to guarantee authorization and/or full reimbursement.
All Other Attendees
Alumni and other non-fellow attendees will be responsible for booking their own travel, whether directly with the airline or train company, via an online discounter, or by some other means. Recommended airports are Santa Fe Municipal (SAF) [14 miles] and Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) [66 miles] with an arrival date of Wednesday, June 21.

A rental car is not a necessary expense and will not be reimbursed.
Travel Booking Deadline
As stated in the travel policy, all reservations qualifying for reimbursement must be made a minimum of 21 days in advance of the event, or by Wednesday, May 31. For more information on travel guidelines please refer to the travel policy.
