May 2009 :
Department of Energy Awards Five Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowships
Recognizing an ever-increasing demand for scientists highly-trained in areas of interest to stewardship science, the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration founded the Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE NNSA SSGF) in 2006. Now in its fourth year, five new fellows are being welcomed into the program.

Department of Energy Awards 16 Computational Science Graduate Fellowships
In 1991, in an effort to address the shortage of computational scientists in the United States, the Department of Energy developed an innovative fellowship program. Now in its eighteenth year, the Department of Energy’s Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) continues its commitment to training the next generation of scientific leaders as it welcomes 16 new students to the program.

The Krell Institute Welcomes Lisa Kollasch as Corporate Communications Coordinator
The Krell Institute today announces that Lisa Kollasch has joined the organization as corporate communications coordinator. In this role Lisa will develop branded materials to support existing projects and solicit new business, author and disseminate news releases, provide strategic support in the redesign of Krell's corporate websites, and direct the organization's communications efforts related to their new K-12 energy efficiency program.

The Krell Institute Welcomes Tom Bonney as Web Designer
The Krell Institute today announces that Tom Bonney has joined the organization as web designer. In this role Tom will be responsible for developing new architecture and design for the company's existing corporate and client websites, taking steps to ensure search engine optimization, and integrating off- and on-line marketing strategies to develop additional modules and functionality.

September 2008 :
David Markowitz, a neuroscientist at Princeton University and one
of the DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellows (CSGF),
has recently had published a paper published in the June 11, 2008 issue of the prestigious
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
The paper is entitled “Rate specific synchrony: Using noisy oscillations to detect equally active neurons”

Dr. Mary Ann Leung, an alumna of the Department of Energy’s Computational Science Graduate Fellowship
program administered by Krell, has joined Krell as its new Program Manager.

Krell Institute is a charter member of the Great Lakes Consortium on
Petascale Computation, a collaboration among dozens of universities, colleges,
research laboratories, and research institutes from around the country.
