Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate fellows are part of an innovative group learning to solve problems outside traditional boundaries. An annual conference makes it possible for these leaders to get together, share ideas, support one another, and discover the research opportunities at Department of Energy laboratories.

NEW FOR 2009:

High Performance Computing (HPC) Workshop, Monday, July 13
This one-day workshop will provide a broad introduction to HPC for scientific and engineering research. The major goal of this workshop is to kick-start HPC learning process by helping participants understand why they should utilize HPC and how it will benefit their research.

Attendance required for incoming, first and second year DOE CSGF Fellows. All attendees are welcome; however, priority to fill remaining spots will be given to third and fourth year DOE CSGF Fellows, DOE NNSA SSGF Fellows, and DOE CSGF Alumni. Workshop registration will be confirmed by June 15.

Wednesday Afternoon Optional Sessions
These sessions will include:

  • DOE CSGF Fellows and Alumni Session (12:15 pm – 1:25 pm) - box lunch provided
  • HPC Roundtable Discussion (1:30 pm – 2:30 pm)
  • Writing a Winning Research Proposal Workshop (2:45 pm – 4:15 pm)

Space is limited, so be sure to indicate your interest on the registration form. Your participation will be confirmed by June 15.

Human Resources at the DOE Lab Poster Session
Come and learn about full-time career opportunities and network with Human Resource contacts from the labs. You can still find out about practicum opportunities, however the lab poster session isn’t just for practicums anymore!

DOE CSGF Fellows' Poster Contest
Prize(s) will be given to the top research posters presented by DOE CSGF Fellows. Contest details will be available by May 15. The winner(s) will be announced during Thursday's luncheon.
