2. GRE Scores
A. Is there a minimum GPA or GRE required to be considered for the fellowship?
There is no minimum GPA or GRE required to apply. The research statements, program of study, reference letters, transcripts, GRE and GPA are important parts of this competitive fellowship and are all taken into consideration when reviewed.
3. Transcripts
A. Do you need a copy of my undergraduate and graduate transcripts?
We need an official transcript from all universities listed on your application, including the current fall term (if you are enrolled at a university). If the fall transcript is not available until after the deadline, we will still accept it and your application will be considered complete without it.
4. Program of Study (POS)
A. Can I apply for the fellowship through any university or just specified universities?
You can attend any accredited university (which offers a Ph.D.) during the fellowship period, as long as it is in the United States.
5. Application Status & Submission
A. Can I work on my application and save it to come back later and work on it?
Yes, you can save your application and work on it any time. Your application is not submitted until you press “Final Submission” on the final submission page. Once you have done that, you can no longer make changes to your application. However, even after your application is submitted, you can continue to use the online system to notify references that their letters have not yet been received, or to check the status of your application.

B. When is the application deadline?
The 2013 application deadline is January 8, 2013. Please keep in mind that all application materials — including references, GRE scores, transcripts and the completed application — will be due at that time.

C. When will I be notified if I did or did not receive a fellowship?
For studies beginning in the fall of 2013, you will be notified whether or not you received a fellowship by late April 2013.

D. When does the fellowship start?
For those considering to apply for the next class of fellowship awards (2013), the fellowship start date will be September 1, 2013. As a reminder, program funding is renewable for up to four total years.
