US Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship

Fellowship Eligibility

  • Students must be planning full-time, uninterrupted study toward a Ph.D degree at a U.S. university.

  • Students in their first or second year of graduate study in the physical, engineering, computer, mathematical, or life sciences are eligible to apply for the DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship. Exceptional senior undergraduates who can meet all the requirements listed here may also apply. FAQ

  • Applicants must be either U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens.

  • A new policy will be initiated for the current application/selection process cycle for the DOE CSGF program, that is for applications due by January 14, 2010. For this and future cycles, applications will only be considered for study in departments that certify that either
    1. no more than one term of teaching, grading or other departmental support activities are required of students in the applicant’s department or
    2. if there are requirements to teach, grade or provide other departmental support for more than one term, they will be waived for the DOE CSGF fellows.

  • Support of this fellowship is limited to 4 years and must be renewed each year
