How To Use This Document
As I have developed this material, I believe that there are two
crucial pedagogical approaches that need to be simultaneously
incorporated.
First, you as student need to use Netscape to explore this document
and its associated URLs which are embedded in the text.
(See the ``hot buttons'' located throughout.)
Second, you must realize that mathematics really cannot be done without
pencil and paper in hand. Examples and exercises appear below which you
should attempt to work out alone before checking the answers in the text.
To benefit to the fullest, do not look at the solutions before
working through problems on your own.
Ultimately, enjoy the work you are doing and spend as much or as little time
as needed on a topic before you continue. You have the luxury to go as deep
as you wish on a subject before you are satisfied.
