Homework 3: Due 11/14

Figure out the best way to run the steady state heat flow problem on the transputer machine.

  1. Write up LSC code to run the problem in parallel, and run a few different sizes of the problem.
  2. Time these runs, and see how they compare with the results you achieved in HW 1 and 2.
  3. Can you achieve a 1mm spacing of the grid points?
  4. Vary the number of PEs and report on the change in performance for a fixed problem size (remember that you will have to use different .nif files for different numbers of PEs).
