Adventures in Supercomputing (AiS) introduces students to computational science which seeks to gain an understanding of science principally through the use and analysis of mathematical models on high-performance computers. Students engage in long-term projects which require them to pose hypotheses, to develop mathematical models to solve problems using a computer, and to analyze their results. This online textbook supports students in the process of computational problem solving and project development.

Like the Navajo woman who weaves beautiful rugs from color, design, and tradition, COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE weaves together the strands of mathematics, science and technology.
